How to Start a Halloween BOO at Your School

Getting started is easy.

First, decide how you want your school-wide BOO activity to work. You can have a staff member organize the first few surprises, or invite teachers and staff to participate voluntarily.

Next, prepare a small Halloween treat or BOO basket. It doesn’t have to be expensive. A favorite candy, snack, coffee, drink, school supply, or another inexpensive treat can make a fun surprise.

Leave the “You’ve Been BOO’d!” sign with the treat and encourage the recipient to choose someone else to BOO.

You can place the “I’ve Been BOO’d!” sign on a classroom or office door so everyone knows the BOO has arrived!

A Simple Way to Build Staff Morale

The best part of this activity is that it doesn’t have to be complicated.

You don’t need an elaborate staff appreciation event or a big budget. A small Halloween surprise and a thoughtful note can give someone a reason to smile during a busy school day.

Activities like this can also encourage teachers and staff to connect with coworkers they may not interact with regularly.

It’s a simple way to add a little kindness, appreciation, and Halloween fun to the school day.
